Year 10 Boys win Middlesex Schools Football Quarter Final

The Year 10 Boys Football Team have had a very successful season winning all 6 matches so far.  They have beaten Greenford 1-0 (League), Cardinal Wiseman 4-2 (Middlesex Cup), Elthorne Park 3-2 (League), Cardinal Wiseman 6-1 (Ealing Cup) and The Heathlands School 8-4 (Friendly).  Their biggest success came on Tuesday evening in the Quarter Final with a victory over a very good Green School Side.  The Green School took the lead with a lucky goal early in the first half before a through ball from Wadea left Dominic one on one with the keeper who he chipped to level the scores.  The Green School then scored to take the lead again with a well hit long range effort.  Brentside had to show real team work and determination as The Green School applied more and more pressure towards the end of the first half.

The second half saw Brentside having more influence over the game scoring an equaliser early on when a long throw from Dominic fell to the feet of Tyler to score low into the bottom corner.  Brentside created a number of chances in the second half limiting The Green School to one opportunity which was cleared off the Brentside goal line.  2-2 and it was the inevitable penalty shoot-out.  Plenty of the team volunteered to take the responsibility and all scored from the spot meaning when Oskar saved a penalty from The Green School, the Year 10 boys were celebrating making their way to the semi-finals of the Middlesex Cup.
